i have just been told my 14 week old son has a syrinx in the lumbar region of his spinal cord. I already know he has two sacral hemiverterbrae which should cause him no problems due to the region. He has had an mri due to limited movements in his left leg and the toes on his left foot are bent over. he has regular physio even at his age and the movements are improving however i'm now in a panic over what this cyst means the mri results are being shown to a specialist and neuro surgeon. i was also told his spinal cord stops between L3 and L4. what does this mean???? I am so worried and confused is my little boy going to have to have surgery and if so what are the long term effects. any information an any of this would be greatly appreciated
