am almost 8 weeks pregnant, after the ultrasound today, all they could see is a baby sack. does this mean there is no baby. 2 weeks ago i bled for 3 days but the pregnancy test i did afterwards still says am pregnant. help me

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

It is possible that it is a missed abortion or blighted ovum if at 8 weeks there is a sac and no baby. You can wait for 2 weeks and repeat the ultrasound. The pregnancy test will come positive for a month after miscarrying, so this is right now not the reliable way to detect continuation of pregnancy.

Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist once. Hope this helps. Take care!
