Q: Baby Movement at 5 Months
asked by: Mariee2009 on September 2nd, 2009

I have been having some wierd movements in my belly and wanted to know if they are normal. Usually later in the day, my stomach starts to feel larger than it does during the day. Sometimes, at night, while im lying down, i feel my belly, and it feels like the baby moves! Is this normal at 5 months? Sometimes it feels like the baby is positioned more to the left side than the right? like my bump is positioned more on my left side. Is this all normal?

5 months pregnany baby movement
I was told that at five months (typically) other people can now feel the baby moving too. You probably were feeling the baby move a couple weeks or a month before this. From what you are saying and what my doctor has told me, that is perfectly normal.

I get the same feelings you do. There are some days and some times of the day where I definitely feel bigger or smaller. And at night my kid goes to town kicking at me from the inside. The way it was explained to me is that at night you tend to be relaxing more and so you're body is still and the baby wakes up (and, therefore, moves). During the day you are up and about and moving around which kind of lolls/rocks the baby to sleep.

I hope that helps. Smile
