My fiance and I are trying to get pregnant. If we have a girl, we like the name Kaitlynn Victoria. We like this because my name is Kaitlyn and his name is Victor. Is this odd? I mean, guys do it all the time!

I don't find it odd, it is just uncommon. Since your name is also Kaitlyn you could call her Lynn or Tori/Tory or Vicky or just Victoria as a nickname.

I like it, but I don't like the JR idea. I always hated that, 2 ppl with the same name is confusing, however my husband wanted a little James, so when we found out the twins were boys, the last born boy is James like his dad, but a dif middle name and we call him Jamie so it's not too confusing. Christian is named after me, LOL he'll hate me later I'm sure, but since I go by Christine, or Christi, or Chrissy, and he gos by just plain Chris or Christian its not confusing either. Have you considerd naming her Victoria Kailyn? If I would have had a girl befor I had my 4 boys, I would have named her Jamie-Christine, to be named after both of us, but alas, I had 4 boys then a girl, so I named my girl Eleanor Jean. I was very close with my grandma, who passed befor I concieved her, so I named her for her, but call her Ellie, and Jean is my mother in laws name.

I don't think it's bad in theory.

However, I do prefer the name Victoria to the name Kaitlyn(n), but Kaitlyn Victoria is better than a lot of things out there.

Besides, why should men be the only ones with "juniours" like their herritage is the only one that counts?! The women carry them for 9 months, and do most of the raising, so in my opinion, the womans "seed" is more important than the mans "seed" anyway....

No. My name has been passed down through 6 generations. Same middle name and all.

My bf will be the first to tell you that having the same first name as you will confuse the hell out of dr's and dentist's and employers as long as she remains unmarried. If she moves out when she is old enough but never marries til her mid to late twenties, I guarantee you'll get her phone calls still, and even her mail from time to time.

I say this because my bf and his father have same first name, and his parents still get his phone calls from his employer from time to time (some in the middle of the night) and we've gotten calls from his dad's dentist. Its not fun.
