so right now i should be about 17weeks pregnant.
and i kno you dont always feel kicking right around this time and some start at like 20 weeks, but...
about 2 or 3 weeks ago, i used to feel my baby flutter around my belly button and sides a little every now and then. but lately i dont feel him do that as much and it will only happen like once a day or something.
is this normal? im worrying myself over nothing right now and i feel stupid.

No, it isn't something you should feel stupid about or anything. The flutter you felt may not have been the baby moving, but just gas movement or whatever.....

If it was the baby moving, then you are going through what most moms go through: during the day the baby gets rocked to sleep by your movement so she doesn't move as often. Also if you have a busy lifestyle, you aren't going to notice half as many movements as you would if you were thinking about it all the time. The baby could be moving, but isn't that big either, so sometimes he may not be able to give you a poke that you can feel yet.

At night you are sleeping and sedentary, so the baby isn't being rocked to sleep, so he moves more.....but then you're asleep and his kicks aren't quite enough to wake you. Most of the time they won't.

If you are really worried, drink a glass of milk and then lie down for about 30 minutes. You should feel your baby move quite a bit.

You can always contact your doctor if you are worried and need peace of mind. You don't even need an US, just a heart rate test will assure you that everything is ok Smile

17 weeks is early to be feeling REGULAR movement. I did feel little flutters around 16 weeks, but I would go some days without feeling anything. Movements, for me, didn't become regular until about 20 weeks, and even then, usually, only when I was lying on my back concentrating.

Dont even worry hun, but know it is normal to worry! When I was pregnant with my son whom was my first child, I felt flutter/potential movement at about 14-17 weeks... talked about it with my doctor then nothing! not joking I might have felt maybbbbe one or two flutters between 17-23 weeks... i was paranoid about it... then felt regular movementafter 23-24 weeks

i don't think what you felt were fetal movements, it sounds more like gas. if you're 17 weeks now and you were feeling movement 2-3 weeks ago, you would have been 14-15 weeks. your uterus doesn't reach your belly button until about 20 weeks, so at 14-15 weeks you would not be feeling fetal movement by your belly button and sides.

thanks for the input jessamyn

i really dont think it was gas, it could have been, but it felt more like little movements i kno my uterus doesnt reach my belly button by then, but there was movement around there when i would lay on my back or sides or even sit my bfs jeep and he would play his music loud. then i didnt feel anything for like days and now it only happens once in a while every couple of days or not at all

Yeah the first time I felt my son move I was at Church and there were crazzzzy bands and it was sooo loud and everything was rumbling and when it stopped my tummy went boogie boogie for a second. I didnt feel actiiveee moving and kicking daily till around 24+ weeks... I was jealous because I had two friends that were pregnant with me... (literally we gave birth to our children within days of eachother) and they felt kicking early on Sad but everyone is different, just know that you are not alone, its okay to worry but no need to!
