Q: baby after hysterectomy?

I had a hysterectomy when I was 25. It was a hard decision I had to make and I was married at the time. I am no longer married and I have a wonderful man in my life that really would like another child someday. I was told I still produce eggs so I could create a child someday. I still have my ovaries. This has really been bothering him and now me. I have no idea where to start or what to ask. I found this site on google and it got my attention after reading some other posts. Is it really possible for me to carry or have something done using a surrogate?

Help!

I believe you definitely could have a child...However, you would need a surrogate Mother...They fertilize one of your eggs and your partner's sperm and insert this into the Uterus of the host surrogate...I know this has been done as some Mother's and sister's have done this for their daughter/sister....I hope this helps....

Good luck,
Caroline

If you had a full hysterectomy, removal of uterus and or cervix) you can't carry a child but you could certainly have a surrogate carry a child for you as long as your ovaries and eggs are healthy.
