Last Summer (2009) i contracted two serious chest infections, followed by MRSA in my big toe that proved difficult to treat. I had 13 courses of Anti-biotics one after the other, eventually after 5 months it started to clear. During the treatment for MRSA i contracted Swine Flu..after that i felt dreadfully tired, weepy, and acutely achy all over, i used to scream if anyone touched my arms it was that painful. All i want to do is sleep and i can sleep 18 hours at a stretch and still wake feeling tired and after a while go back to bed..My G.P sent me to an Immunologist who took very detailed blood tests..turns out all my B Cells ((switched on and switched off) are damaged or abnormal..The Immunologist did not fully explain the consequences of this but another Doctor at the hospital said that B cells are memory cells and that they start life in your bone marrow..and that they hold memory of all infections you previously caught throughout your life..He said i had no immunity for all my previous childhood illnesses and never will be able to get it back as the B cells cannot be made any other way except by cloning .I am so worried. now i catch everything going and am never 100% fit i am only 45 but feel awful ,my 83 year old mother has more get up and go than me. What does the future hold for me is my life span been reduced by this? Also does this mean i cannot be immunised against anything as i have no memory B cells for the vaccine to cling to...
