Q: Awake left leg

About 2 yrs ago i was told that i had Restless Leg Syndrome and prescribed Requip. I would go to bed very tired but my leg leg would tingle and be wide awake. Last year i went to neurologist and he said i had back problems (bulging disc, muscle spasms & pinched nerve). He thinks that my leg problem might be related to my back issues and i might've never had RLS.

These last 10 days i cannot sleep because my left leg is tingling and wide awake. I hate it ! Anyone had this problem? I would be very tired but my left leg would keep me from sleeping.

tingling and pain in a leg is a symptom of nerve compression and not RLS.

A neurologist is not the kind of doctor you want to see for spine problems. You need to see a spinal surgeon, either an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in spines or a neurosurgeon who specializes in spines.

Seek consultation with a good spinal surgeon to find out exactly what is wrong and what kind of treatment the spinal surgeon suggests.

Are you still taking the Requip? I don't know if it would help relieve some of the pain and tingling that you are feeling or it's a waste of time and money to take if, if the true problem is from nerve compression and not RLS.
You might want to discuss this with your doctor.

Good luck

Thank you fran for your answer. I'm going to look into seeing a doctor for the back because i really believe that my back is what is causing my leg to be that way. I feel so jittery at night and hate that my left leg cannot go to sleep like the rest of my body.
