Q: Audiograms and acoustic sensory evoked potentials
asked by: DoctorQuestion on June 5th, 2008
All this happened about 4 months after a trip to San Diego. On that trip I did notice a couple welts on my arm after surfing for 3 hours. About 7 days later symptoms such as dizzyness, buzzing in ears and flu
like conditions. Then within a month racing heart, left arm tingley, and shortness of breath and almost low blood sugar feeling. Doc said probably some virus- Nothing perscribed but heart type asprin. Now the symptoms have seemed to go more nueral as I have mentioned above.

Question- Besides more accurate lymes testing and maybe a tap for ms, Is there anything in the ocean
that could be causing these symptoms? If so is there a lab for testing of this?
Thanks-
Vince

Current medical status: have completed catscan, mri, blood tests, pulmornary testing, visual test (check optic nerve), stress test, ekg, emg. Blood testing included testing for lupus, initial lymes, along with cholestral and heart related illness- still no diagnosis. My symptoms include- dizzyness (lightheaded), buzzing in the ears, sparatic shortness of breath, poor low light vision, hard to focus on moving objects, general concentraion problems, muscle weakness and alot of fatique.
Current medical treatment: I am taking cat claw, fish oil, collidial silver, kelp, vit e and c, . seems like the fish oil helps slightly but not sure.

You really made a lot of medical investigations. I don’t see that you have had any ear examinations performed. You can also have an audiogram performed to check the hearing and acoustic sensory evoked potentials – a test to check the acoustic nerve. Evoked potentials –a test together with a spinal tap - can confirm/exclude multiple sclerosis or other neurological disorders.

You can consult a neurologist about this.
