I've been on it for 3 days. I'm only taking it at night RIGHT before going to bed at the moment. Aside from the mouth numbing HORRID taste it hasn't been too bad. Sleep hits like a brick within 20 minutes of taking it though. I get so sleepy to the point where it's not possible for me to stay awake. I get a little bit of the munchies, but nothing like Sluroquel. The next day there is pretty much zero hangover- and I'm taking it around 1140pm ish and getting up at 6am (getting up better than I have been when I was on NO meds really). It has really helped me so far. It kinda snatched me up out of my mood (I'm BP II) I'd been in for around 2 or so weeks.

However I am uneasy about it being a new drug...but it's my last resort really- and I need to be able to function.

Anyone else here on it?

(I'm a 22 yr old woman btw)

I work in the medical profession and I usually keep a pretty close ear to the ground concerning any new meds dealing with bipolar. I have bipolar, ADHD, and recently was diagnosed with Narcolepsy and Obstructive Sleep Apnea as well. I belive the sleep apnea came on from the 75 lb weight gain I have experienced on atypical antipsychotics I have been given because anticonvulsants alone were not enought to keep my moods stable. Zyprexa and Seroquel were like "wonder drugs" for me and the first meds that really controlled my moods, but then I experienced the huge weight gain, extremely elevated cholesterol levels, excessive night eating, and being more tired during the day to the point where I fell asleep driving and totaled a vehicle - luckily escaped with only minor cuts and bruises.

I will do some digging and see what I can find out about this drug you are referring to.
