Australian Story..

I have had hsv 2 for nearly 2 yrs, i have two boys both V delivery prior to contracting hsv2.

I now am expecting my 3rd child..I have researched just about every forum there is on this subject as the thought of giving birth and my child coming into contact with this ugly thing really scares me, and i am all up to date with satistics etc..

I dont have private cover as i didnt think twice about it... ive had previous births via the public system and had no dramas Now that time is getting closer and my circumstances have changed im really starting to stress about giving birth i dont believe i can elect to have a c section, i think its whatever the doc recommends you have to do, which frustrates me and this is why.

I have had 1 outbreak being the first that i actually know of, and 2 other episodes where i thought i was experiencing thrush but still to this day dont know wether it was an outbreak or thrush as i let it ride out and didnt see my doc. I have never taken any viral meds and the doc classes me as asymptomatic, so when the doc ran through the birth process and that they will put me on meds at 36 weeks and if im having an outbreak it at birth it would be recommended a c section now im really concerned and scared because what about viral shedding, Hello i dont get no symptoms but this doesnt mean im not shedding the virus how can they be ok with a V birth when im not a usual case scenario..

regardless of the c section hype and how bad it can be recovery and major surgery i want one ...Has anyone else been asymptomatic and what was your experience..
