Asthma, rhinitis, and sinusitis Posted: 04-20-08 06:35am
have been diagnosed with Asthma over a
year ago now. It seems like after I suffer
a bad Asthma attack. I feel like sick for
a period of like 3 days after the major
attack. I am really tired, weak, have no
energy, and short of breath.
Also, I have been suffering from sinus
headaches with a runny nose, stuffy nose,
and sneezing. Is this an allergy? Happens
mostly in the Garden Center of Walmart
(Work) and at home.

Asthma is an allergic disorder. It can be
provoked by various allergens found in the
air. Sinus headaches, runny nose, stuffy
nose and sneezing are probably due to
inflammation of the sinuses and nasal
cavity.
Inflammation of the nose (rhinitis) and
sinuses (sinusitis) can also be due to an
allergy. In fact, asthma and allergic
sinusitis or rhinitis often go together.
You can request skin allergy tests to find
out which substances you are allergic to.
Avoiding the specific allergen(s) is the
basic principle in treatment of any
allergy including asthma and allergic
rhinitis. Maybe the allergen is present at
your work and at home.
You may want to consult an allergologist
about your condition. Shortness of breath
can be due to the asthma. The other
symptoms (tiredness, weakness, lack of
energy) are very common symptoms and
probably not due to an allergy.
