Hi,
My 5 yr old was just hospitalized for 2 days with shallow rapid breathing, elevated heart rate.
Chest xrays were normal, white count was elevated.
After being transferred to a children's hospital, she was given albuterol every 2 hours, prednisone every 12 hrs and oxygen for the first 12.
Her sat levels were down to 88, and came up to 95...where they remain after all these drugs. They are saying it's asthma...but could it be something else?
No fever, history of pneumonia, chest infections, seasonal allergies. She has this nasty juicy cough that has NOT improved or subsided any after the treatments. She was wheezing, and that is quite a bit better, though still present.
any suggestions??
