How old does someone have to be to show symptoms of arthritis? I'm 21, and I'm starting to have pain on my fingers.

Hi,
Welcome to the ehealthforum. People of all ages, including children and young adults, can develop arthritis. Although osteoarthritis appears mostly in elderly age group, rheumatoid arthritis can effect young people also. Rheumatoid arthritis typically affects the small finger joints, wrists, knees and toes. For your pain i would suggest you to consult a rheumatologist and get an evaluation done.

Diagnosis can only be made after complete physical examination and investigations like complete blood counts,ESR,RA factor,CRP etc.
