My mother observed a lump in her armpit a fortnight ago. It doesn't pain and no discharges have been seen from her breast. No other symptoms are seen. It isn't exactly a lump, seems a swollen area, but slight harder than the surrounding area. What can it possibly be? I m very scared. Please help.

It could just be a benign cyst or bacterial infection in the lymph node, but since it is still there after two weeks, she should have it checked by her doctor as soon as possible, to be on the safe side.

If it is anything more serious, the earlier she gets it checked the better. And if it turns out to be nothing, you'll both feel a lot better.
