Arm aches and pains bringing me to tears

User Profile
I just saw a Neuro today as that is what my health ins. will pay for. If it payed for a chiro I would have been there. I know in my gut that a chiro can help me. I am saving now to make an appt. and get an evaluation. We actually have many good chiropractors in this small town. I have arm pain that wakes me in the middle of the night. It's from overuse/work. I think the problem is from my back or neck area, not my arms. I wanted to join a forum like this to read and talk about alternatives to conventional medicine. I believe in c.m. by all means, but, if there is an alternative to try first, I am "first" in line;) or want to be;) Denise, Oregon, USA

I have the exact same symptoms you are experiencing and let me tell no one can honestly tell what is going on. I find myself trying to diagnose the symptoms myself instead of my doctor because it aches so much. The pain is on my left arm and resonates from my elbow. I use the computer every day and have been since i was 10 years old. I am almost certain all the improper sitting positions and keyboard shortcuts graphic designers, such as myself, have to use have something to do with the everyday discomfort. It doesnt hurt at all it which is strange and during the mornings its feels at peace until i sit in the same position for too long or go to lunch and come back to my desk.

Coincidently, I just came back from getting a cortisone shot from my doctor. I was against it since day one but nothing has seemed to help. Oh and I forgot to mention. The first doctor I went to visit about my elbow had a MRI taken and diagnosed it as tendonitis. But Im left to wonder if its tendonitis howcome there is no pain! Im excited to hear anything you have found to help alleviate your discomfort.

I started with a neuro and believe me, I won't go back unless nothing else works. I then went to a chiro yesterday and he has given me more home than anyone. He believes it is pronator syndrome and if he is right, and knows his biz, I hope to notice a difference in two weeks of 2 treatments per week plus a simple "icing", "massage" and "stretch" on both arms each, day I don't see him. I will keep you updated. It is an overuse issue in the muscles and it is about the exact type of movement I do at work. Also a lot of keyboarding when I am home added to it I am sure. I hope he is right. Denise
