it is prevalent thought that women have less orgasm than men. Is there any medical research that account for less sexual desire in women than men.
What i want to convey is that "Is it by design or something else that men are more prone to sexual desires than women".

It is my personal view that women have less sexual desire not because of stress or disease but it is their normal behaviour. Can you explain or answer my question with the help of medical help.

regards

i dont think men are more prone to sexual desires than women..i do think that it takes women longer to figure out what they like, and remember most women dont hit their sexual peak until their 30s and40s while men do so in their teens and 20s...

I do not think that men naturally have more desire than women at all, they're just more able to express it because there aren't as many taboos against male sexual desire as there are for women. Men are considered more manly or "studly" if they have a high degree of desire, while women can be considered "bad" for the same thing. If women are told that sex or feeling sexy is bad, then they'll be less likely to want to express themselves sexually.

I went to a speaker this year who touched on this sort of thing.

He said, in short, that women tend to multi task, so it takes them longer to focus mainly on sex. Men don't tend to multi task as often as women, so arousal happens faster because they are more focused on one thing.

He also spoke of a study (but I couldn't find it over the internet), where a man and woman sat in a chair where they watched porn and both wore goggles and headphones so that the only thing they could see and hear was the television screen. The study showed that when women focused just on sex then her desire rose as quickly as the man's.

i think that men TALK about their desire more. women are brought up to be much less grandiose about voicing our sexual desires. we're taught that we just keep those types of things quiet.

nonetheless, we have sexual desires. i believe our sexual desire is stronger than mens. i was very young when i began to masturbate. my boyfriend only learned about masturbation from someone else several years after i had been doing it. seems to me that most men have to hear about it through someone else where as most women learn about it by themselves and usually a lot younger.

women do all sorts of things, we just don't blab our mouths about it all the time. i do agree with the statement that we are multi-taskers and it takes more for us to focus on sexuality. i also agree that we are "down" more times than men are. when i say that, we're "down" or out of commission for menstrual cycle issues, etc and men are not. i think that's what the original poster was eluding to when she said something about disease except that it's not disease. i don't think women get disease any more than men. if the truth be known, probably less and when they do get disease, they keep going where men tend to be more crybabies about it (just ask my b/f...hehehe).

I think men are because if you look at almost all species in the world including primates 1 male usually has more than 1 partner while the females kinda have 2 wait in line.lol And there are more human females than males. Maybe the desire is just less because of millions of years of evolution. But thats just my bone-headed opinion.
