Hi everyone,

I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and I am 27 years old and have hypothyroid since 2 years. I had my thyroid level checked recently. They are as under:-

TSH = 1.98
Free T4 = 0.9

Does this sound normal to you? My doctor did not tell me to increase my dose, just told that everything was normal when I called her. I am currently taking 75 mcg of Levothyroxine. I am so worried about the effects of hypothyroid. Your insights would be very helpful to me.

Thanks,
Priya

TSH
TSH - Anything from 1-4 is considered normal. Some will argue anything over a 3 is abnormal.

I assume you are taking Synthroid/Levothyroxine.
Long term use of these meds lead to osteoporosis. In which you should be taking a calcium supplement for. But do not take the supplement at the same time as taking your thyroid meds.
I would not be concerned about being hypo (your levels are great)unless you are still displaying signs of being hypo. Most commonly insomnia, hair loss, joint & muscle pain, inability to lose weight, bloating, brain fog and fatigue.
If that is the case it may be advisable to inform your Dr. but be forewarned most Drs say phooey and wont do a thing. More people have success with going on ARMOUR.Take care.
