Sometimes I use my diabetic boyfriend's test kit for fun to test my blood sugar. At least four times, thirty minutes after eating dinner, I've had a blood glucose level of over 200 (220-240).

I washed my hands, everything. It's happened enough times that I don't think they're flukes tests. I am a healthy, non-diabetic, thin 20 year old woman, without health insurance.

Should I see a doctor?

Testing close to meals like that can be a little deceiving. A more accurate test is a fasting one. Test right when you get up in the morning before you've eaten anything. If you are around 100 you're probably ok.

Also, make sure he's okay with using his test kit. Those strips aren't cheap and some of the kits have a plug-in capability, so at his doctor appointments, they download all his numbers into the computer. Your tests could throw that off.

If you are worried about your blood sugar, go to *your doctor* and have it checked properly with a fasting blood test in a lab.
