Q: Are pink penis bumps genital warts?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 12th, 2008
I have a few pink bumps on the lower base of my penis head where it "v's" at the bottom. I am circumsized. The only unprotected sex I have had was oral sex. I have not had any unprotected anal or oral sex. I havent actually had intercourse for awhile. I also noticed and I dont know if this is normal but the "Crown" of the penis is perfectly normal to the eye but when I run my finger across it it feels kinda textured, but no bumps or anything visible during normal eye contact. I went to the ER last night and the M.D there told me it didnt look like Genital Warts but he didnt really closely examine. He just put gloves on and looked at the spot where i was talking about and told me it was ok. Maybe i'm paranoid or just plain worried. I read that with genital warts they start out as "cauliflower" spots. I dont notice anything that looks anything near a wart or a cauliflower. It's just tiny pinkish bumps. About 6 of them. Thanks so much!

According to the major symptom you describe (tiny pink bumps on the penis head), you might be experiencing some type of sexually transmitted disease. Genital warts usually look like cauliflower spots only when they are fully developed. At the very early stages of the growth of a herpes outbreak, a genital wart can appear as a very small bumps. So at this point, it might take further diagnostic procedures to exclude possible HPV infection and genital warts. You can visit a dermatovenerologist for a more precise diagnose, treatment alternatives and information.
