Well
Yes, it is very normal. I'm 16 and I'm a girl and I used to have urges to get with a girl. Just about everyone goes through the stage where they are curious about it. Don't worry kid, it's alright. =]

Just resist it, for now at least. If you are really wanting to try something with another male, I would strongly suggest waiting at least until you are out of high school. It's not that I'm not supportive of gay or bi people but high school students are very judge-mental, and they can be very mean.

jeycfrench,
It is normal to have these sorts of thoughts, and yes most of us have had them. Actually carrying them out, as in kissing your coach or your spotter, is a totally different matter. For one thing you don't know if they swing this way and if they don't you could end up on the bad end of a fight. I would stongly suggest that you wait until you get out of high school and certainly until you of legal age if you want to pursue this lifestyle. But, with all this said, you may find that all you are experiencing is a "man crush" which actually gets experienced by many heterosexual men (who will never admit it) - hey just look at how grown men will idolize the best football, baseball or hockey stars.

This is my 2 cents,
Wendy

In the late 1940's and early 1950's a sex researcher by the name of Dr. Alfred Kinsey and his colleagues published two books called Sexual Behavior in the Human Male and Sexual Behavior in the Human Female based on the study of human sexuality. These works are also known as the "Kinsey Reports."

One of Dr. Kinsey's most well known theories is the "Heterosexual/ Homosexual Rating Scale," which rates a person's homosexuality or heterosexuality on a 7-point continuum.

Keep in mind, however, that it is normal for a heterosexual person to have thoughts, dreams or even fantasies about members of the same sex as it is for homosexuals to have thoughts about heterosexuals. Thus, your "score" may not be a perfect 6 or 0.

0- Exclusively heterosexual

1- Predominantly heterosexual, only incidentally homosexual

2- Predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual

3- Equally heterosexual and homosexual

4- Predominantly homosexual, but more than incidentally heterosexual

5- Predominantly homosexual, only incidentally heterosexual

6- Exclusively homosexual

ive often wanted to do that but i dont think any of my friends experience the same thing as me. i hve done it once.
i get very confused. when i masturbate, actually during it i have thoughts about men but after i have ejaculated im repulsed by the idea fo having sex with another male and at that time i feel attracted to women almost sexually. can someone provide an answer to this?

contheawesomel,
Sometimes the thrill of doing something that is taboo or semi-taboo can be very stimulating while we masturbate. I have thought about other women sometimes when I masturbate. When you've finished you kind of wondered why you would even think such a thing and then go back to what might stimulated in a normal situation (like walking down the street and looking at some girl's ass as she walks in front of you).
I don't think you should be worried.

i think the reason you have sexual fantasies about males is because you ARE a male and you understand really, ONLY male parts at your age. therefore, anything sexual is understood through your "maleness". this is normal. not only that, but all this is pretty new to you...so at this age, anything is likely to turn you on!

when you get older and become more familiar with the parts of a female, then my guess is that you will probably become very turned on by the females. i don't think you're gay. this is really why it's strongly suggested that ppl wait until they are 18 to do anything sexually. it takes until about that age to really understand where you are in the "sexual world" so to speak. by that time, things like this will no longer confuse you AT ALL!

i don't think that there's anything wrong with being gay. i just don't think you are. i just think you're thinking through the mind and seeing through the eyes of a young male, and from your perspective, all this stuff is confusing you.

just relax...this will all be very clear in a few years.

To the original poster:

You are still very young! I remember when I started having urges about men at 15, and I was all sorts of confused, especially when I masturbated. All along, I thought "why in the hell am I having these thoughts??". I didn't think much of it, just kept them to myself, and although I dated girls here and there, I knew that I was, in fact, gay, and started coming out as I became more accepting. If it wasn't for the new friends I found in the past year and a half, I'm sure I would still be far in the closet, beating my head against a wall or something. I'm not totally out yet, and that's something I will tackle when the time is right.

The point is: you may be confused now, but your best bet is to sort it out for yourself. I'm not saying experiment (you are still very young, and sex is very new to you, as I'm assuming), but keep your thoughts and attractions in check, and over time, you will realize the gender whom you are truly attracted to, and will eventually feel more comfortable in being yourself. That's just my advice / opinions, of course.

To cotheawesomel:

BE who YOU WANT to be! Don't be afraid to love someone that you truly have feelings for, be it male / female. As I stated above, you want to keep your thoughts and attractions in check. You say that you want to have a couple of kids - both straight and GLBT couples (as homerx stated) have kids. I know of quite a few gay / lesbian couples that have adopted kids.
