Q: Appendectomy
asked by: DoctorQuestion on May 4th, 2008
I would like an idea of recovery time and just how careful I should be with what I do in terms of moving around?
The doc as the hospital said I would be off work for a two weeks but did not give me much other information.
Stuff like driving, walking, sex? When is it ok to resume these type of things.
Your help would be much appreciated.

many thanks

luke

Two weeks is enough time to heal the surgical wound of an appendectomy if there are no complications. I don’t see a reason why you shouldn’t drive, walk or have sex 2 weeks after such surgery. You can wait longer than 2 weeks if you want to perform certain harder jobs.
