Q: Anyone file a 1040x before? Ammendment?

Hey everyone. Hope all the mommies had a good day yesterday!

Has anyone ever had to file an amendment for the IRS? I need to file one but have no idea how and we don’t have the money to pay a tax service $90.00! See I filed head of household and claimed out 2 dependents because I made more this year. Well I was penalized a couple years ago and cannot claim dependents until next year. So Daniel was the one that should have claimed the kids. Daniels return was filed and accepted as single, well now we need to added the kids.

We went to liberty tax but they wanted 90.00! Anyone have any advice?

If you still have your tax return booklet, there is an 800 number with all kinds of topics that you can get help or information on. I'm sure you can get some kind of guidance from there or from the IRS website.

yeah I even printed the instruction booklet. Im just deathly afraid of messing it up again. I hate owing the IRS! Its sooo not fun...lol. Hey did you see Seven Pounds? I did last night it is awesome!

Been there and done that- for both!

I got messed up with the IRS a few years ago. I switched jobs and cashed out my 401K. I thought they had taken out state and federal taxes but they had only taken out federal so I was owing the state a nice chunk of change. Not a good place to be! So I know how you feel.
And I have seen Seven Pounds. It was not what I expected but I still enjoyed it.
