Any new treatments for HCV

|I do not know why it acts the way it does, sorry I can't answer that. There is a relatively new treatment however. I had hep c and successfully underwent treatment with the 3 drugs incivek, interferon, and ribavirin. Incivek is the new drug. My viral load in undetectable and I only had a 6 month treatment. It was no cakewalk, however. My doctor was a huge advocate for milk thistle and last time I saw him he was still doing research on it's effectiveness to help protect the liver. I took it before treatment and I only once had a higher than average liver enzyme test come back in my life (had hep c for about 4 years) There is research being done as well for a treatment without interferon. Id surely ask my doctor about both the treatment and herbal maintenance, whether that be milk thistle or a specific diet. I'm not a doctor but you can bank on the old "exercise and eating the right things" can only do good things for you. Maybe you'll be one of the people who don't need treatment. POSITIVE THINKING IS ASTRONOMICALLY IMPORTANT, ESPECIALLY ON TREATMENT. I didn't NEED treatment yet, but I opted for it because I'm young (22 at the time) and had good health insurance.
