Any girls here who are stronger than their hubby/boyfriend?

I've always been a bigger girl and when I met my husband I was a chubby single mom @ 5'7 and 215 lbs while he tipped the scales at a mere 130 lbs (he's also 5'7). Afraid of what others would think about being so much bigger than my boyfriend I frantically tried to lose weight and got to under 200 lbs until I got pregnant. My weight soarded and while our 1st child together (my 2nd child) recently turned 3 years old, I recently tipped the scales at 293 lbs *sigh*. Of course through all this good old hubby didn't gain a lb, he's still skinny as ever.

I always suspected that being a bigger girl I could overpower him if I wanted but have never wanted to purposely emasculate him. I was greatful that this guy stuck around through the pregnancy (unlike the first) and has been a great partner and father--don't want to run him off lol!

Anyways, recently we were playing a game of yahtzee (yes we are a bit boring) and after beating him twice in a row he frowned and I could tell he was getting frustrated (I tend to beat him at boardgames lol). He got up to get a glass of water and as he returned to the living room I mockingly asked if he had had enough or wanted another beatdown. Nothing wrong with a little competition and teasing in a relationship right?

He just looked at me and I took it as a 'no' and started putting the boardgame away. Two seconds later and he grabs me and we're wrestling around on the floor. A little play wrestling is chicken soup for the soul, but it soon got a bit competitive. While we weren't out for blood, it was quickly apparent that neither of us wanted to lose as we rolled around, grunting with effort. It wasn't long before I found myself on top of him, with him unable to get out. I could tell he was embarrased so I let him up and he climbed to his feet quickly with a variety of excuses from "I got lucky" to "he wasn't trying" to "I caught him offguard" etc..

His rants fueled my competitive side and I told him to rematch me if he thinks it would make a difference. So there we were, kids sleeping soundly down the hall, and hubby and I circled eachother in the living room. He lunged at me but at 293 lbs he just doesn't have the muscle to take me down. After a struggle, I not only took him to the ground, but as we rolled around, I wound up (accidentally) knocking the wind out of him as I ended up on top again. Pin. Again. At this point, I'm not sure who was more embarrased, him or me . For some reason I began to get self conscious as I realized my huge weight advantage was too much for him. Since the incident we have talked openly about it, and I've reassured him I don't think any less of him, and that I would never tell his friends. Although he admitted to it being a blow to his ego, he jokingly admitted that his friends already think I can kick his ass. LOL. Keeping the humor of the moment, I told him that I guess we confirmed it, but they don't have to know. He couldn't help but laugh a little, thanks he said. Razz -Dawna

Your husband seems to be a great sport about this stuff and I get a strong sense that he loves you very much. Does it bother you that your husband can't overpower you? Do you think you'd be happier if your husband was more powerful?

Lol, I have the opposite problem, as far as weight goes, as you. I am 115lbs, 5'1". My husband is 5'10" and 190lbs. I can still whoop his arse. Part of it is my advantage of being quite flexible, the other part is my natural womanly advantages (think body parts, there is always a chance when we wrestle that some part of my anatomy might "peek" out). We wrestle around quite often and he quite often ends up thinking he has me "pinned" and then outta nowhere, my foot is in his face! It is such fun. I don't think any less of my hubby either, and the rampant "arsekickings" he receives from me has no effect on his ego. He actually admitted he finds it quite hot!
Enjoy the fun times hun! It is great exercise and great "foreplay". Just be sure to make boundaries for both of you. Like the little codeword for my hubby and I is "uncle"...if one of us is stuck in a compromising or painful position or if the wrestling is starting to hurt, one of us says "uncle" and there is a time-out or we stop alltogether for a bit.

Hehe well wolf to be honest I think I always imagined being with a bigger guy before I met him. I wouldnt trade him for anything but sometimes his scrawny butt does make me feel like a whale ugh! So in that sense I guess he deserves it :p

Haha that is funny! You must be very athletic to beat your husband. Very cute. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one kicking butt... go us! giggle

PS- Saturday night I beat him in 5 out of 6 games of bowling. He looked like a dear in headlights and meanwhile im doing my little dance every strike I got lmao

I don't think this is anything to worry about. It's not so much the norm but it's common enough that if it were a real issue for couples you'd hear more about it. Just be aware of your husbands ego. It doesn't much matter boy or girl, bigger or smaller, nobody likes to lose all of the time.

Stronger wife
Nice! My wife is stronger than me. I am 5'4" 143, she is 5'4" 195. It surprised me at first and I tried rematches but she always wins at wrestling.
