Q: Anxiety stimulated panic attacks
asked by: DoctorQuestion on February 24th, 2009
Hey everyone, Im just 14 and I've been so scared for the past few days. Almost a month ago, I have been getting chest pains and my Mom left for a few days and I got really stressed and stuff but then she came back and it went away. But 2 Days ago I got reminded that I have a doctors apointment on Friday and I started to get pains again and felt like I couldnt breathe. It happens on both size and I weigh about 120. I can say I dont eat that healthy because when I wake up I dont have time to eat alot, and at lunch I usually have a cookie and some fries and pop or something, and when I get home I eat somewhat healthy [Chicken and stuff]. Some people say it's anxiety but I dont think so, and that is when I get a panic attack.

Panic Attacks Answer A5879

According to the symptoms you reported, you might be experiencing panic attacks due to anxiety. However, the psychological causes are usually left for last, and other tests (physical exam, ECG, perhaps ultrasound) are recommended before relating the symptoms to anxiety. You might want to visit your family doctor who might refer you to a cardiologist for further tests or to psychologist for evaluation and treatment.

Meanwhile, try not to overload your heart with excessive stress, both physical or mental, in order to avoid possible complications if the condition is related to a physical cause.

I was brought to the E.R in the U.S.T Hospital Manila and they Toke my blood presure it was 140 over 80 and toke blood sample for laboratoty test and E.C.G and found out It was a panic attack. I went back to palawan and Visited a cardiologist and check my heart was in normal condition. I also have Ex-rays test to check If I have lung and stomach problem But It was ok and Also check my blood if I have anemia but the test results was in normal condition. they even check my urine and stool and found out I have amoiba bacteria I took some medecine for a couple of days and my diahrea is over. but I still feel those thightness in my chest and dificulty in breathing every single day. I went to a neurologist and a psychiatric doctor and he presribe me with flouxetine, inderal an revotril. I toke those medicine for 2 weeks but I stop because there are some advice that the withrawal of the medicine is not good and also the side effects. they also canducted for another check especialy in my thyroid but it was foundout that it is in normal condition. I lost about 7kg of my weigth and Im 79kg now because I am sweating during the night when Im asleep. Untill now I am not fully satisfied that itsjust a mere anxiety or panic attack disorder. I am still suspecting that Perhaps I was poison by a mercury or metalic poison from some people that I was encounter during my work in the mahogany plantation site in quezon palawan. Please give me an advice.
