hey, im 21 and i have anxiety...i experience panic attacks every so often...well thats wut i believe it is...i have been to the hospital and cardiologist so many times in my life about weird sensations in my chest...heart palpitations, trouble breathing, tightness, pain, dizziness, fainting, i have been diagnosed with tachycardia...my main valve in the heart sticks or something, and then another doctor will say thats not what it is, none of the doctors can seem to get to the bottom of it, but i have been researching these symptoms and the only thing i can come up with is anxiety, i do worry a lot, most of the time i have no idea what im worried about, i wanted to ask u about the most annoying and exhausting symptom i have which is constant "butterflies" or a fluttering feeling in my stomach, i feel drained most of the day...not much energy from this feeling, is it a bad thing? is it normal? it just seems like the only time i dont experience it is when im sleeping. i am a smoker and i drink coffee maybe once a day, i consider myself a good weight although i used to have an eating disorder. i went to my doctor about 6 months ago and was put on birth control to gain some weight which has definitely helped, and she has offered to prescribe me xanax and anti depressents to stop the anxiety...which i refused, i hardly take tylenol unless its desperately needed. she also offered for me to talk to a doctor about the anxiety but i didnt feel comfortable talking with someone i dont kno and who is only there for the paycheck. besides i have a sister and we are really close and we talk about everything but it doesnt seem to help, are there any "home remedies" for these "butterflies" or are pills my only option?

You can overcome your anxiety naturally, I know I did it. The symptoms you describe sound exactly like hyperventilation syndrome. A great resource on this topic is a book called Hope and Help for Hyperventilation Syndrome. Google the title and you will find it! Best of luck, and know that you will feel better!

Butteflies in my stomach
Hi. I have the same exact disorder. About 10 years ago it was so bad and I had no idea what it was. Went to a psychologist and after talking to her about my lifestyle and what was going on, she explained to me that it was panic disorder. At that point, it was just great to get an answer about what the heck was happening to me.

The "butterflies" feeling was so horrible, it had been going on for about a year at that point, that I just couldn't take it anymore and felt suicidal. Fortunately, I went to the doctor. Ultimately she prescribed Zoloft and at that point she could have prescribed anything and I would have been glad to take it as long as it took away that feeling.

Anyway, after about 2 weeks ALL SYMPTOMS GONE! I was the happiest guy on earth to say the least. Eventually I weaned myself off of the Zoloft (took it for about 9 months) and no symptoms for 7 years.

Since then I have had to go back to the Zoloft (panic attacks) which is ultimately fine with me. I am still dealing with the "can't catch my breath thing" but found a possible cure for it that I will try. It is called the Buteyko Method and requires no drugs. Google it fro more info. Good luck to you and stay strong.
