Q: Anxiety Attack?

Hi. I haven't been feeling well for a while. My symptoms are excessive sweating, headaches, tingling hands and feet, and just general tiredness. I have considered diabetes but that test came back negative. I have also taken Lexapro for anxiety but it just made me more tired. I went back to the doctor to get my thyroid tested and everything came out fine. Now I am going to start Prozac. Although I don't really think I have anxiety problems. However, last night I read a magazine in bed and then turned out the light. Suddenly I got this intense tired feeling all over and got hot and sweaty. My hands started feeling numb and I struggled for a while to go to sleep. I usually have no trouble going to sleep. Was this an anxiety attack?

Anxiety attack
Dear yeah498,
I have been ill since last september with a sphenoid sinus infection. Since then I have had tightness of the throat, chest pains and tightness, numbness of the face, or legs, feet, arms, sleepless nights, and endless headaches. More like daily migraines. My doctor tells me I am suffering from health anxiety and after many months I decided to go on antidepressants. I started with Lexapro and then tried Zoloft. Both had adverse affects. I have had night sweats since, all day heart palpitations, feels like my heart is trembling which wakes me up and severe headaches. I was on both these for 3 weeks. He has now given me Pristiq to try, but I am too scared to try because of the bad experience I had with the other too. My Neurologist doesn't agree with taking antidepressants for anxiety. He thinks I should be taking xanax. My GP doesn't agree with the xanax. I don't believe all my symptoms are anxiety and don't know who to believe.
I just want you to know that the sweating and lack of sleep could be from the Lexapro. I never had this problem before I started taking the antidepressants. Good Luck

Gina
