Hi I have been suffering fro anxiety and panic ,As well as depression.I notice it occurs most with my period. So i started to research .I found that I have the signs of a hormonal imbalance.I get my period every two weeks. So,I find I am either having PMS or having my period .I am Bank Teller and I feel very drained. My memory is poor and I am highly emotional and negative. At first I thought I has a chemical imbalance I Went to a councilor and the placed me on Zoloft which helped but my PMS and Period were still coming to often. So I decided to see the OBGYN who placed me on a mild Birth control. But I'm still very emotional and having Anxiety.Should my OBGYN test my estrogen. Also If my estrogen is high should I go on estrogen free pill

Hi,
Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out. From the description of the symptoms which you have given there’s a high possibility of you being under a lot of stress & anxiety resulting in the irregularity of periods. However, other causes of the same also need to be looked into. Other causes which need to be looked into are fluctuation in hormone levels, hypothyroidism & fibroid in the uterus. It could also be due to a genital infection or cervical polyps. PCOD is one important entity which can cause such symptoms. For that you need to consult a gynecologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
