My father passed away in September of cancer. Now, I'm terrified that something's going to happen to my Mom. I'm 21 years old & I feel like a child because it's so hard for me to be away from my Mom even for one night. I have to wake up before she goes to work & tell her to be careful on her way to work. Then I have to call her to make sure she got there. I wake up in the middle of the night with a weird feeling & I have to go check on her in her room. Now that it's spring time, she has a beach house that's about 2 hours away. I'm here by myself & I almost can't take the anxiety. I feel like someone is going to break into the house & hurt me or something is going to happen to my mom.

What do I do?
I can't live like this.
I can't even work because I can't focus on my job because I'm too worried about my mom.

it sounds like separation anxiety which is a learned behavior you should see a doctor who will set you up with a psychiatrist and work on breaking that habit. i too suffer from anxiety in a different form but somewhat similar i often get a pain in my chest when i am alone and fear i will die of a heart attack and the more i think about being alone and dying the worse it gets, until eventually i have a panic attack. its terrible i know how you feel but its something that can be rid of... good luck.
