i have svt arrhythmia in my heart and it is causing me a lot of anxiety and worry, but somedays i cannot tell the difference between wheather the fast heart rate is from the arrhythmia or just from increased anxiety and worry about the fast heart rate and if it will happen.i am on a beta blocker and had 1 ablation to close the pathway causing the arrrhythmia but still suffer from plapitations .does anyone esle have problems with the above or suffer from fast heart rates due to anxiety or svt .

thanks

I see the problem --- heart arryhthmia and anxiety can trigger one another!

Well, the first thing to do will be to isolate the anxiety and learn to get in control of your mind! You can do this by breathing and mental exercises. The American Heart Association has local chapters that can help link you with heart resources. nurse I'd suggest that you perhaps seek a teacher of meditation to help you through this time. You really need to be in control of your mind and body, instead of the other way around! What part of the country do you live in? (City, state)?

P.S. My mother has this condition, so I'm also a rather opinionated observer of heart arrythmia. Smile

I've never meditated. I am in therapy and that helps a lot. I take a mood stabizer and was told I would be on an antidepressant starting this week. I was diagnosed by a heart specialist as having heart arrythmia. My primary Dr. says it is anziety. I see the Heart Dr. this week and am frustrated. Heart Dr. said we may discuss a pacemaker. My heart pounds and out of rythmn everyday and only tranquilizers calm it.
