HI! I'm 19 years old and have been sexually active for around half of a year now with my fiance(who I have been dating for almost a year and a half). I developed sepsis and had to spend a week in the hospital and three days in ICU. Afterwards, they prescribed two 800mg of Augmenton a day for 30 days. Since the antibiotics were so strong and we know they affect the BC, we just decided to stop taking it for a while (because we will be happy either way if I become pregnant). What my question is though, is that I wanted to know if I might be? We had sex the day before my ovulation day, and he ejaculated into me. I would have been off BC for around two 1/2 to three weeks by then. Now, I am having brown cm that almost has a stretchy slipperly-like texture. Yesterday (3 days after we had sex) I had light cramping for a little while at work. What does all this look like to you?

I know this probably doesn't help much but it sounds like pregnancy to me. Brown spotting and even a mucus like texture can be indicators of pregnancy. I've been through 3 pregnancies and had cramping early on in all my pregnancies. As long as it's not really bad or tinged with bright red blood, you're prolly pregnant. You can try taking a test but it may still be too early. Best of luck to you!

No that helps alot! Thanks Smile I just haven't ever had brown discharge like that to my knowledge, and I had some cramping. currently its very light, but its occasional even now. I still have five days till I should get my period, so ill probably just continue to wait to see if I get it. I can't really tell if I FEEL pregnant tho. I've had those symptoms, and heart burn at night the last few days. But my boobs haven't hurt at all lol.

I have also heard that pregnancy symptoms can be mistaken for menstrual symptoms as well so don't let them fool you. I've never had the brown discharge until I was almost ready to deliver. Just remember that every woman's body is different. Some experience symptoms that others don't and you don't have to have every symptom listed in order to be pregnant. It's a great idea to wait until your period is due to come because you could very likely be having pre-menstrual symptoms. I've had those plenty of times myself! They are misleading but can be a great thing if you (like me) cannot afford another child right now. lol Best of luck to you and please, keep us updated on the outcome! Smile

Oh, and to answer your antibiotic part of the question, I'd say it can affect birth control. I was on the regular birth control pill for awhile and I started taking antibiotics and then found out I was pregnant. I later learned that the antibiotic I was taking made the birth control less effective and not aware of that, I was having unprotected sex and 10 months later, I had a baby girl! Smile

I've heard that too. So im trying not to assume anything. Like I said either way we are more than happy. Nevertheless we weren't like, planning or anything Haha. And thatIs what i heard - at the time I really wasn't able to take bc anyway, (in the hospital) so we figured that wed just stop takin the bc until I was off antibiotics since they were so strong. I will definitely keep yall updated. What do u think about the heartburn? (I NEVER get heartburn).
