Q: Antibiotics and missed pill

2 weeks ago i was on anti-biotics for a urinary tract infection (i think i was on amoxcillin) and then last week i missed 1 pill (im on triadene and i missed one of the white pills, i had exactly 7 days worth of pills after the missed pill but dont want to double up because i did last month) but me and my byfriend have continued to have unprotected sex. i know its stupid but we only see each other at weekends and both times by the time we remembered it was too late. is there any chance i could be pregnant?

so i was given the anti-biotics on 5th may for 3 days then had un protected sex 8th & 9th then missed a pill on 12th n had unprotected sex 15th 16th 17th, do i have anything to worry about?

Yes

Where you informed by your doc that antibiotics make the pill invalid? As soon as you started those antibiotics your pill stopped working and your body may or may not have made you ovulate that plus the missed pill and the fact that sperm lives for upto 5 days and you need to take the pill for 7 days after stopping the antibiotics to become protected again means that you do have something to worry about but i wouldnt panic just yet look for signs of pregnancy in a few weeks and maybe a missed period (you may still bleed as your on the pill) so the pregnancy signs are most important i would take a test in 4 weeks from now just to be sure good luck Smile
