If you really are trying to recover the best thing for you would probably be seeing a dietician. It's hard staying on a menu you made for yourself without relapsing.

Recovery meal plan
Hi there! Firstly, congratulations! I'm so happy to hear you're recovering. Secondly, yes it's true you probably should get some professional help instead of trying to tackle this alone. I just recovered recently (it can be done) and I never went to see anyone but I really think it would have made everything a lot easier if I had. Anyways, here's what I did:
I had been living on about 500 calories a day and weighed 77 pounds. I brought this up gradually from 500-800, 800-1000, 1000-1200 and so on. Some of my earlier meal plans looked like this:
Breakfast: 1 bowl oatmeal with a tsp of honey
Snack: 1 apple
Lunch: Rice, grilled fish and a helping of
vegetables.
snack: raw carrots and celery sticks
Dinner: some sliced chicken, 1 medium boiled potato and vegetables.
Snack: 1 apple, 1 banana and a glass of milk.
Overtime I increased portion sizes and started to relax more about what i was eating. Also, try incorporating things like nuts in your diet: these are nutritional power houses. They will help you repair any damage due to the eating disorder. I wish you the best with everything!
Love always!

support
Hi I am 25 and struggling too with planning meals and keeping to them. I wonder if we should work together and exchange ideas and tips for following plans. One of my old dieticians used to set me 1 challenge a week to eat a new thing or 'do something scary' related to eating. I could do it when I knew I had someone to answer to but it is harder without that. Maybe we could offer the same. Where do you live?

I would just add a few more calories to each meal. Like for breakfast add on a piece of toast, or a banana, or a glass of milk or orange juice to whatever else you eat. Same w/ lunch: add on a hard boiled egg, or a salad, or a serving of nuts. @ dinner add on a salad, or a whole grain roll, or something healthy. also, nuts are AWESOME! they can repair a lot of damage bc they r good sources of healthy fats, iron, protein, etc. good luck! anorexia beginning to re feed
hey i am currently struggling with a similar issue, i am at a severely low weight at the moment weighing in at around 69 lbs and 5'1 and 1/2 inches tall...i am 19 years old...i know i should go into treatment, but i dont have insurance now and i have faith i can do it on my own with the support of my family and friends and out patient team that i am seeking...i have been living off around 200 calories for weeks now, and i am trying to up it slowly, as the first girl posted i am also planning on increasing 200-300 every couple of days but starting straight off at 800 cals...i have been in treatment centers 3 times in the past 2 years and they usually increase you about 300 per...i know that with re feeding there can be complications like holding on to water, edema etc if you increase too fast, i have experience this in treatment, going from pretty much 0 cals to 1600 over 2 days then to 2000 for the rest of that week and gaining 7 lbs, mostly water weight still traumatic...so i want to do this safely, i am very motivated and willing to let my mom in and help me with meal plans and prepare meals etc...i also have a twin sister who suffers from anorexia as well and is in the same place as me now so this will be tough but we are great supports when in recovery mindset.
anyways any advice on how i should increase, how many days should i stay at the same calorie amount, weighing how often? any meal plan suggestions(i am vegetarian) i was thinking like :
1/3 cup oat bran(mine is 100) cooked in water with 1/2 a banana and 1 tbsp almonds= 190

1/2 cup 0% fage Greek yogurt with 1/4 cup blueberries or papaya= 90

1 slice ezekiel bread with 1 tbsp avocado and lettuce etc 1/2 a cup chopped apple and 1/2 a cup of split pea low sodium soup=230

1/2 a lara bar(fruit and nut bar) a 10 cal vitamin water or low calorie electrolyte drink...=120

1/2 a cup brown rice. light tofu 1 serving. steamed veggies about 1 cup kale carrots etc idk...=170

800 total
how does that sound? balanced...do you think i would need more dairy less fat more protein? thank you love.

elle,
that seems kind of low! im having the same exact problem as you. 5'5 90-92 lbs depending on the day. i also dont have good insurance but i do have a nutritionist and here is my starting meal pla.. it really isnt that bad its actually easier once u get 2 days down:

Breakfast- 1 grain, 1 fruit, 1 dairy::: 6 oz yogurt,1/4 cup gronola, apple

Lunch- 2 grain, 1 veg, 1 fruit, 2/3 protein, 1 fat:::
2 piece of toast/pita/e.muffin, 15 grapes, a cup off lettuce/carrots/cucumbers, 1/2 c. cottage cheese/ 2 oz cheese/1 oz nuts(counts as protein and fat)/2 oz tofurkey 1 0z cheese

Dinner- 2 grain, 1 veg, 2/3 protein, 1 fat:::
(basically same as lunch only with no fruit)
Favorite dinner-- 2 rolls, 1 oz cheese, 1 oz nuts, 1 c. cucumber

Snack- 1 grain,1 fruit 1 dairy::: 1 cup. milk, chewy gronola bar/special k, 15 grapes

You shouldn't worry about the calories becuz that will freak you out just go with the exchanges and it makes it SOOO much easier.

After about a week/week and a half- i would try adding another snack (dairy,fruit,grain) or better yet a ensure thats what im on now and then maybe a fat at breakfast (like 1 tbsp. peanut butter or 1/2 oz nuts)

You can do it! i have faith in you
