annual physical erection normal ? Posted: 04-11-08 09:35am
Last time I was at the doctor's for my
annual physical he did the DRE exam and I
got an erection. I was very embarassed and
said nothing. The doctor also said
nothing. I'm scheduled for my annual
physical and am worried this will happen
again. Is this common or a normal
reaction? I was too embarassed last time
to ask.

It's normal. Nothing to worry about. With
the parts of the body that are being
stimulated by a DRE, it's almost
impossible to NOT get an erection, in my
opinion. It's just how the body reacts. I
wouldn't worry about it. And besides, your
doctor has probably done tons of DREs and
has probably caused erections 90% of the
time!

Well I had my physical and everything was
fine during cough part and the exam of
penis, foreskin and testicles but when the
doctor did the prostate exam I got hard
again. I some how got the courage to ask
the doctor if this happens to anyone else
and he laughed and said to more guys than
you would think, although no one talks
about it. He said it is a normal reaction
and I shouldn't be embarassed as he really
doesn't care. He did say when he sees
this happen he doesn't have to ask if
everything is working ok as he's seen it
does.
