Anemia & Rash Flare-ups

Does the hemoglobin fluctuate when you have Lupus? Specifically, can your hemoglobin values return to normal or near-normal in between flare-ups, and go down during or maybe right before a lupus flare-up? Also, does this same thing happen with the malar rash--does the facial rash become more pronounced during a flare-up and can it "calm down" at other times? Is it common to get this same malar rash on the chest?
