I am 33 weeks and was in the hospital last week with contractions. They are trying to keep me pregnant another couple of weeks or so, and they told me no sex until at least 36 weeks. I didn't think to ask them if anal sex was ok though. So is it?

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

If you started to have contractions at 33 weeks then yes you should refrain from both anal and vaginal sex. Both can stimulate the uterus or cervix whether directly or indirectly and can trigger labor.
