Can you describe the symptoms and condition a little more, please.

IS there any flaky skin?
Do you notice skin discoloration?
When does the itching occur? For how long have you been experiencing anal itch?

no flaky skin and no discoloration. After a poop I can't get clean no matter how much I wipe. Even using wet wipes. After about an hour I can feel that I need to wipe again and when I do it's always yellow poop color and itcy. I am an avid cyclist and am in wet bike shorts for many hours a day so thought possibly this is a yeast infection that just won't go away?

I'd suggest that you follow up with a GI specialist. IT seems that there might be something going on with the rectum and/or colon. Yeast infections generally affect the vaginal or penile area, not the anus...although I'd be interested to hear what a specialist would say, as wearing bike shorts that are damp can breed this type of climate that yeast can thrive in. I'd suggest perhaps first a visual inspection of the area by your family doctor and then a referral to a specialist if needed.

I find that very interesting as well. I have found that I tend to get anal itching every now and then and have successfully used hydrocortisone cream to relieve it and eventually it goes away. Have you tried any treatment or cream.

Also, repeated scratching of the anus and lower butt crack area only serves to make it worse, so the sooner you get some cream the better.

I do find it curious though, that after you poop you cannot get sufficiently clean, even with wet wipes, so I agree with illustriously fickle that you should get checked out.

Hope this helps,

Wendy

Thank you....You just answered a question I had for anal itching and I am going to use some hydrocortisone cream tonight....Everything you said on that post was true...The more you scratch the more it itches...

Great advice..
