i've been posting about my random symptoms that had taken me from Dr. to Dr. to finally a Rheumatologist who did specific testing after basic blood work showed nothing and my ANA test came back normal... and the only thing she found was "antibodies around thyroid" and next week I am seeing an endocrinologist. The Rheumatologist said even with my ANA test being normal, she was seeing definite signs of adult onset lupus and wanted to look into that as well as arthritic problems as she found my ankles and wrists were swollen.

my symptoms are:
-feet getting noticeably discolored... ranging from sunburned red/purple/blue (usually always discolored)
-random toe swelling/itching late in the PM (only happened a few times)
- red/purple blotches on inner legs and feet after shower or when standing still
- leg aches
- red flushed face
- headaches
- fatigue

*these all came on very strongly in the past 2 months... especially the very noticeable changes in my toe colors, which at first a Dr. suggested was raynaud's however the color changes are rarely temp induced and have been consistent for 2 months now

have a history of:
- not being able to lose weight
- coin sized dry skin patches which go and come
- never feel 100% even when I'm taking great care of myself

Although I am thankful the rheumatologist ruled out Lupus etc. I'm sort of confused about this antibodies around my thyroid and yes I know I'll find out more info next week from the endocrinologist, but I just don't get how it could be causing such drastic and obvious circulatory issues.... i'm 22 yrs old! Is it possible the Dr missed something and is assuming just bc she only found antibodies around thyroid that it must just be that direction.....

any feedback would be welcomed!!!

Hi
I have Hashimotoes thyroid disease with a host of other autoimmune problems..All of these things you brought up can be related to the thyroid..

Lab tests can be negative and then during a flare be out of this world so don't worry too much about other labs being negative..Finding answers is the hardest part then dealing with the answers..

Thankfully some thyroid disease can be taken care of with medication..Others like mine required surgery as I had a mass that went from one side of my neck to the other..

You could have Hypo or hyper thyroid and at times you could have both depending on how you are doing..GEtting right diagnosis and started may help..It might take a few tries to get the right dosage so hang in there..

Best of luck getting the answers you need..I hope this helped some..

I completely understand what you are going thru. I was diagnosed at 18 with Lupus and Fibromyalgia. Then I saw two other doctors who said I definitely have the Fibromyalgia but that I don't have Lupus because my ANA is showing up normal. They say I have Raynaud's, hyperthyroidism (yet it's not bad enough to be on medication for), Fibromyalgia and what they are calling an Unidentified Connective Tissue Disorder. I am now 22. It is very frustrating not being able to live a normal life and even more frustrating not knowing what is really wrong with you. Believe me I truly understand. I sympathize with you and am sorry you have to go through it. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
