the child. the fetuses can't survive without the mother giving them food. It wouldn't work.

Just a comment; if you are prolife then you would legally compel a woman to provide succor for a fetus.

Do you get to say what mom has to eat, too? Where does your line in the sand get drawn?

You would never go up to a a pregnant woman and tell her what she has to eat, but you would go up to a pregnant woman and tell her that she must give birth.

It's a bizarre world. If people could just MYOB.

if your pro life and you support the death penalty then you need to really think about your beliefs..

This might have nothing to do with this its just a thought

then by your logic it is better to use child soldiers in war because no large (adult) human beings get killed?

Come on, surely you have better than this.

The pro-life movement uses pictures of LARGE BABIES instead of tiny embryos because they know that they would get no reaction from the public if they told the truth about what abortion actually entails.

The majority of abortions involve embryos, not fetuses. Why not show pictures of actual size embryos instead of the fake pictures used by pro-life protesters now?

That clinic I drive by everyday had a large crowd Friday, complete with a priest in full get up. They were using pictures of large babies.

I think they'd be better off protesting in front of the statehouse, but what do I know. I'm just a woman, incapable of making my own decisions.

Maybe it's because embryos and fetuses are, well, pretty icky-looking. If they showed pictures of those, then they might actually end up convincing more women to have abortions. Especially the early ones, that look really alien -- once you start thinking about this thing growing inside you, if you weren't sure about keeping it before, it would probably send you over the edge and convince you to abort.

I agree. Before my abortion, I did TONS of research. I was curious about the size and features the embryo had. After looking at hundreds of pictures of dead 6 month old fetuses (that were supposedly aborted) I was almost convinced that this is what my embryo looked like at 5 weeks!! Shocked

I had to go to a pregnancy website to find the facts. It was smaller then a sesame seed! I can't find any REAL pictures of an aborted 6 week old embryo. Why?

Because what legitimate clinic is going to photograph an aborted anything?

If they did, the media/prolife advocates would be all over that and cry 'oh the humanity' and you'd have to deal with that.

I was googling for pictures, and came across this news from January 08:

Quote:
Pictures of dead babies and the words, “Hillary’s Holocaust,” were displayed outside Belvedere Plaza Thursday in an anti-abortion protest aimed at Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-New York, a Democratic candidate for president.

The group made stops in Spartanburg and Greenville before arriving at the corner of North Main Street and East North Avenue around 4 p.m. At each location they held the signs for about an hour and a half to two hours.

Donna Holman, 72, of Keokuk, IA, stood behind a photo of a baby that was aborted a 21 weeks. Across the street, in front the BP gas station, her husband’s sign showed another fetus with the slogan, “Abortion: An Inconvenient Truth.”

Mrs. Holman said she wanted to make sure Sen. Clinton was defeated in South Carolina’s Democratic primary as she was in Iowa. There, Sen. Clinton finished in third place with 30 percent of the vote.

Although Sen. Clinton is not the only pro-choice candidate, Steve Lefemine of Columbia Christians for Life said she is “an extremist in when it comes to her zealousness for abortion.”

Mr. Lefemine referenced the Freedom of Access to Clinics Entrances Act,which passed while her husband, Pres. Bill Clinton, was in office. The bill made it a federal offense to obstruct someone’s access an abortion clinic.

EXCELLENT! Thanks. I'd also like to point out that the embryo in the actual size picture is what is aborted in the MAJORITY of abortions.

Quote:
The study also found that abortions are occurring earlier in pregnancy, with 6 in 10 procedures performed in the first eight weeks' gestation and 3 in 10 performed in the first six weeks' gestation. About 90% of abortions occur in the first trimester, according to the study (Chicago Tribune, 1/17).
