I feel as though my vagina is always itchy and doesn't smell very good. I don't remember it always smelling in the past, but I seem to always have "yeast infections" and always be itchy and uncomfortable down there. A couple months ago when I was sexually active, I noticed that it was not smelling good down there and my BF and I would notice it when we would be having sex. It just smells like I haven't taken a shower or I don’t know just a strong vagina odor. I have read some women talk about a poop smell, but I would not describe it like that. It made me not want to have sex anymore though and definitely have been too embarrassed to receive oral sex. It was also always itchy. Since then I have used two over the counter yeast infection kits, but still itchy every single day. I have been taking a shower in the morning and at night now which I think helps with the odor and dirty sweaty feeling I feel down there when I wake up in the morning. I have also been using summers eve in the shower twice a day. I haven't noticed a smell, but I also am no longer having sex. Oh, the last time I had sex there was a lot of white “goo” on my partners penis after sex….i did not orgasm and was not his semen.
Does it sound like a yeast infection that maybe just needs a stronger medication? I need to go to the gyno, but they are so expensive! I cant go every time I get itchy..My pap tests are always normal...I have also asked a gyno in the past about frequent yeast infections and she told me it was NORMAL here in humid FL. Really?? I don’t know anyone else that gets yeast infections and has vagina problems.
What my theory is, is that my vagina cannot “breath.” I have noticed I think for the past couple years that for example when I am on my period and am using a pad that the blood does not completely end up on the pad like it is supposed to. When I go to use the bathroom and wipe, there is a ton of blood that is just sitting outside my vagina, but “stuck” between my labia majora. Is this normal or not? How do I fix it? I am a little overweight, is it possible that this is because of that? Help!!!!!!!

Hi Sweetest girl, this definitely sounds like an yeast infection with your symptoms of itchiness, the smell, and whit goo, which is discharge. Usually, you'll have a white, cottage cheese looking discharge when you have a yeast infection. Go see your gynecologist for a stronger treatment, like Diflucan, by pills, or creams they can suggest. I'm prone to them as well, and they're a MAJOR pain! However, if you're getting negative paps for yeast infections, they're also bacterial infections like Vaginosis, or VB. You may also just have an irritation down there as well. I get these, and ma suffering now. It can be from excessive sweating, being damp down there. I know you mentioned a sweaty feeling down below, too. It could from detergents, soaps, perfumes, or more. You can use a cream, both prescription and over the counter, called Cortisol cream, or something close to it to help with irritation. I would ask your doctor first to be sure.
