Hi

I was prescribed amoxicillin last week. I took one and within 10 minutes of doing so my throat, face and neck started to swell.

I was rushed off to hospital where they said I had expereinced a severe allergic reaction. They injected a few different things into me, I know one was steroid and one was piriton.

The thing is, ever since they treated me I have what feels like a heavy head cold. Stuffed up nose one minute then runny. tickly, productive cough. The mucus is yellow/green. I don't feel feverish and have no headache, although I do have a slight sinus pain over both my brows.

I'm due to have an operation on Saturday under general anaesthetic but I'm becoming increasingly concerned that they will cancel the operation when I tell them about this cold? allergy?

Is it possible that the allergic reaction or the treatment they gave me for it has left me with excessive mucus?
