Like I said, I don't know if I'm a
hypochondriac or have a serious problem.
I'm scared that I have a kind of amoeba
that eats the brain. It can be gotten
from swimming in lakes during the summer
months, and last Saturday, I'd gone
swimming. Ever since then, I've been
terrified. I looked up some of the
symptoms (stiff neck; loss of appetite;
headache) and my neck has been aching, but
not to the point of being a stiff neck,
and I've barely eaten anything since
Monday. I think I've had a slight
headache, but it seems to be just a
tension headache caused by stress, and it
goes away if I take some Ibuprofen. I
don't know if I'm being a hypochondriac or
I'm seriously ill.
My neck had been aching slightly since the
night before I knew that it was a symptom.
It's not my entire neck; it's just toward
the back of my neck, near where it meets
my torso. I'm not sure why I haven't been
eating, although that could be stress. I
live with my family, and don't have the
money to pay for a doctor's visit, so I'm
not sure what to do. The amoeba is so
rare that it doesn't even effect one out
of every one hundred million people, but
I'm still scared. If anyone can offer me
some kind of

The type of stiff neck that is the result
of a neurotoxin is painful and you are
unable to turn your head or bend it
forward without pain. The headache is also
very painful. You are fine. You do not
have a amoeboid illness.
