Q: American Medical Laboratory Technologists in Japan?

I want to pursue a four year degree in Medical laboratory Technology. I also want to achieve my dream of working in Japan. Does Japan have med lab techs? Are their education systems different from US? Do I have to take an out-of-country exam?

I've heard Japan cherishes their education to the extreme, so I think the competitiveness will be at an all time high against American medical professionals. Is this theory correct?
