Q: Ambien CR and Weight Gain?

I have had chronic insomnia for a long, long time. GP finally prescribed Ambien CR and I have been taking it for about 3 months - almost every night. I am wondering if weight gain is a possible side effect of this drug?

I am also wondering if it would be worth my time to do a sleep study to rule out other factors - maybe it's not just chronic insomnia?

Thanks,
Brandi

PLEASE REMEMBER to scroll down to THE ADDITIONAL RESEARCH STUDY, you will find that many people have sleptdriven, sleptwalked, ate in their sleep, cleaned in their sleep, and even cooked in their sleep. Many have even been arrested in those ambien states. From what I read, after the ambien has made it into your system and you didn't fall asleep, you are basically drugged. The ambien is powerful enough to put you in a coma like state while you are awake and doing normal things. Check with your doctor to see if you can get a lower dosage.
