I had my first baby 14 Jun '08. In Aug '08, I startd d 3mth injectible (depo-provera). This was considered d best for me as my 1st preg. was an ectopic. In Feb '09, I stopd d use of the injectible. This means that Feb '09 was the last time I took it. During dis time, my menstrual period stopd. This returned in June '09 but was irregular. Sometimes I could bleed 2ce a month. A doc. I saw then said I was having uterine bleeding which was a result of the injectible. In Sep ,09, my period became regular ie occuring btw 26-28dys and lasting 4-5dys.On 29 Dec '09, I had severe stomach ache and d Doc. thinking dt there was a likelihood that I was pregnant told me to have a preg. test which was positive. However, I saw some blood btw 10-12 Jan which looked and felt like my period. I saw another blood on 6 Feb that lasted 2-3dys. Another preg test read positive. However, an ultrasound saw nothing. Another test on 1 March read positive, ultrasound saw nothin but saw blood on 28 Feb. Am i pregnant

Hi,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out. Ultrasound is the most specific test for pregnqancy and if it is coming negative for any fetus , then pregnancy is unlikely.

False positive pregnancy test is rare and is usually found in is found in chemical pregnancy (a pregnancy in which there is a positive pregnancy test and no other signs or symptoms), missed reaction time( when the test sits for too long), evaporation lines(faint line during UPT) and when a woman is taking any drugs which contain hCG. So my sincere advice would be to recheck the urine for pregnancy test by getting the test done by aimstrip test (highly accurate and measures even less amounts of hCG (upto 20mIU) or get a repeat quantitative blood test or transvaginal ultrasound done.

You should consult a gynecologist and discuss this with her. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
