My boyfriend ejaculated in me but there was blood in his sperm. I wanted to know first if this is harmful to me and second if i am able to still get pregnant with it happening like that.

Am I Pregnant Answer A7699
Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth's Ask a Doctor forum.

If your boyfriend ejaculated in you during unprotected sex and there was blood in his ejaculate, then it can affect you if it is due to infections such as chlamydia, herpes, cytomegalovirus, and trichomoniasis, which are all STDs. Also other non STD infections such as prostatitis (infection of prostate), epididymitis (infection of epidiymis), or urethritis can also introduce infection into your vagina.

If the blood was due to a tear in one of the veins of the prostate (prostatic varices), then it will not harm you.

Whether you can become pregnant or not depends on whether your partner has infection; if yes for how long; or whether the blood was a result of break in veins and capillaries.

You should ideally consult your gynecologist and get a STD panel done. It is difficult to comment beyond this on net. Hope this helps. Take care!
