My period was 1 week late. I have just received it and its alot lighter than normal. I feel as if i am pregnant but i had taken the pregnancy test on the day i was expecting my periods and it was negative. Now that i have this lighter period and i am not sure how long it wil last, whether or not i should take another test after. I have had the folllowing symptoms nausea, headaches and fatigue. I have also experienced bloating in the stomach and have felt an unusual feeling around my belly button. I have spoken to my family as my sister confirmed she is pregnant and she had light bleeding for a week. So im extremely confused and i unsure what to do and when to do it? I know i should see my doctor but would it be pointless when i have a light period?

If you ovulated late then it could have been too early to for the hpt to detect the hcg hormone. It is never a good thing to base your symptoms on the am I or not factor simply because the same symptoms in early pregnancy is the same in a regular cycle. As far as the tingling feeling around your belly button, you could have an intestinal issue, your uterus is several inches below your belly button, also most fetal sensations aren’t felt until 16-22 weeks pregnant. My advice is to take another test, if it is still neg. then trust that finding. If your still experiencing strange symptoms contact you dr. Best of luck to ya!
