I need anyone who has an opinion or knows anything to everything about this topic. I am a struggling with this question. Am i prego? Before i went on bc in march my periods were 7-14 days of AGONY! Now since April they've been 2-3 days and no pain. However i had intercourse while ovulating and un-protected and it was barely 3 months of being on the pill ( This is the week of june 16th 2008 ) and on the 29th i got a very light but painful brown period. Now two days ago ( july 14th) i had pink spotting... and i had horrible cramps and pink spotting today as well.. I had sex about a week to a week and a half ago also.. The last week or two ive been very sick to my stomach, fatique, cant sleep at night and getting up to pee in the middle of the night.. These all seem like signs of pregnancy but within the time frame is that possible? Or could i have gotten pregnant a week ago bec i know if its not "red" blood then sometimes the egg doesnt dischanrge it stays in the tubes.. HELP!!!!

Wait, so you'd been taking your pills for 3 months when you had sex?
You don't ovulate when you take birth control pills, and because you were on birth control pills it's considered protected sex(Unless we're talking STDs).

Have you taken a pregnancy test yet?

Yes, what kind of pills are you taking.

And you don't need to inform your family that you need to go to target to get a test. Your period may be a little weird because of the stress you've been under as well.

I took Yaz for 3 months and it totally screwed up my body. My periods were light and extremely painful and lasted for 10-12 days. As soon as I went off of it I felt so much better. I went right back to a heavy period that lasted 5-6 days after exactly 30 days off the pill.

Birth control pills are effective in preventing pregnancy after only 7 days. It doesn't take months. You probably got confused in that doctors usually tell you that it takes your body about 3 months to become regulated while on the pill. Meaning that your periods will be strange for the first few months. My doctor told me that she has found it takes more like 6 months for your body to fully adjust.

But you are definitely protected against pregnancy after just a week. And you don't ovulate while on the pill. And if for some reason you do happen to ovulate then the super thick mucus the pill makes totally kills the egg.

You only have less than a 1 in 100 chance of getting pregnant on the pill so I wouldn't worry about it.
