whenever i think to stop thinking of hiv . i am in a great mess..:(
yesterday i ate an "VADA PAV".. when i was eating eat i saw a red spot on it... i thought it was blood and i saw the hand of vadapav maker and no he was not bleeding... but still i am confuse now was dat red spot a blodd.. and it was dried i guess coz i was not able to remove it.. and i don't know what to do..?? plz.. am i paranoid or i am gonna die with hiv.. plz. .help me plz...???

Hello, and thanks for your medical question on E Health Forum.

From the history described, i understand the anziety due to fear of HIV.

But the reddish spot on the VADA-PAV, could have been something else than blood. It could have been a drop of tomato sauce or anything of the lots of stuff that is used in a restaurant.

Also ingestion of infected blood, mixed with food has not proved to cause HIV infection.

HIV transmission can occur when infected secretions and blood of one partner come into direct contact with the genital, oral, or rectal mucous membranes of another.

If you still have doubts, you might consider to get tested for HIV after consultation with your doctor who can provide reassurance and also can clear all your doubts that you may have.
